This qualification is suitable for early childhood educators/workers who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.
The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care equips childcare workers to work in diverse jobs involving children and families. Students who completed this course have a strong foundation to work towards roles including:
- Day Care Centre Manager
- Childcare Staff Supervisor
- Children’s Services Coordinator
- Out Of School Hours Care Provider
The students are required to be assessed as “competent” in all twenty eight (28) units in order to obtain Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
You will be required to complete the following assessments:

- Written Projects/Case Studies
- Third Party Feedback

240 hrs work placement
136 -400 hours of self-paced hrs (approximately 2.5 – 8 hours per week). Amount of self-paced study will be dependent on previous experience of the child care industry. People new to the industry can expect to devote more time to study. Support will be available to help with your study of approximately 1 hour per week)

Deposit: $500 to secure a place into the course, this includes a $150 Administration Fee, which is non-refundable.

Progress Payment, to be paid following commencing: 30%
Midway Payment, to be paid at the halfway point of the course: 30%
Final Payment, to be paid prior to course completion: 40%
It is preferred that the students have obtained a minimum of an Australian Secondary School Certificate or equivalent. Students are also required to have a Working with Children check in the state or territory that they are working in prior to commencing work placement. Also students completed Certificate III in Early Childhood would qualify to do the diploma in Early childhood and the credits of unit of competencies obtained from certificate III would be considered towards the completion of Diploma
RPL(Recognition of Prior Learning)
Where learners have developed competencies in a workplace or community setting these competencies may be recognized through a formal assessment process. If students believe that they already hold relevant competencies they can discuss this at enrollment with our staff or at any time with the trainer or assessor.
Requirements for Completion
You must attend 85% of the training program, attend 240 hours work experience and satisfactorily complete all of the assessment tasks.
On successful completion of all units you will be issued with a Nationally Accredited Certificate in CHC50113 Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
